Jo Koy has risen from performing in a Las Vegas coffee house to becoming one of today’s premier stand-up comedians, selling out arenas around the world with comedy inspired by his family, culture and life experiences. Consistently ranked among the top-grossing stand-up comedians by Pollstar and Billboard, Koy has performed at iconic venues including Madison Square Garden, The Forum, O2 Arena, Mall of Asia Arena and more.
Koy has released seven successful stand-up specials across Netflix and Comedy Central. His 2024 Netflix special, Jo Koy: Live From Brooklyn, reached the platform’s Top 10 within its first week. His other Netflix specials include Live From The Los Angeles Forum, Comin’ In Hot, Live From Seattle and the variety special Jo Koy: In His Elements.
Beyond stand-up, Koy starred in Universal Pictures’ Easter Sunday, inspired by his Filipino heritage and life experiences, and has appeared in Disney’s Haunted Mansion, Netflix’s Mr. Iglesias and Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens. He has also lent his voice to animated films including Monkey King, Leo and The Tiger’s Apprentice.
Koy continues to advocate for Filipino representation in entertainment. His work includes serving as an executive producer of the documentary Nurse Unseen and as a producer of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical Here Lies Love, which featured Broadway’s first all-Filipino cast.
His accomplishments have earned him “Jo Koy Day” proclamations in Honolulu, Daly City and Los Angeles. He is also the author of the 2021 memoir Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo.
